Privacy Policy

What we collect, and why

  • About you: your email address (to sign you in and write to you), optionally your first name, and your country. That's the personal data. We deliberately don't ask for more.
  • About your dog: name, sex, birth month/year, breed, neuter status, when they came to you, optionally weight and a photo — and the questionnaire answers and scores. Dog data is the product; it's shown to you and to no one else unless you share it.
  • From guests you invite: the nickname and relationship they give, and their answers — shown to you, because that's the whole point, and nothing else happens with them.
  • If you buy a Profile: the payment itself is handled by our payment partner (merchant of record); we store the order, amount, and its reference — never your card details.

Dogmetry provides a science-based personality assessment for dogs. It describes personality; it never diagnoses. The information we collect regarding your dog doesn't identify or say anything about you as a person.

What we don't do

  • · No ads, no ad tracking, no selling or renting data. Ever.
  • · No marketing email without your ticked, revocable consent.
  • · No public directory of dogs; no name search. Sharing is always your action.
  • · Research use only with your separate, optional consent — always anonymised.

Sharing you control

Your dog's compare code opens a comparison only for people you gave it to, and you can reset it anytime — resetting kills every previously shared code and QR. Invite links work once, expire after 30 days, and you can revoke them.

Your rights, self-service

From Settings you can export everything (JSON), change every consent (each stored with the exact text version and date), delete a dog (profile, results, and everything guests said about them — gone), or delete your account entirely. Backup copies disappear within 30 days. Purchase records that bookkeeping law requires us to keep (7 years) are kept without the connection to any dog. For anything else — including guest deletion without an account — write to privacy@dogmetry.com; we answer within a month.

Where data lives

EU servers, EU-first vendors. Sign-in sessions use essential cookies only — there is no tracking to consent to, which is why there is no cookie banner.

Retention

  • · Technical logs: at most 12 months.
  • · Backups: rolling, at most 30 days.
  • · Inactive accounts: deleted after 3 years of inactivity, with two warning emails first — one sign-in cancels it.

You need to be 18 or older to create an account. Under 13 and invited by a friend? Ask a parent first.
