Understand your dog. Better.
You know your dog better than anyone. Dogmetry turns that knowledge into a shape you can see — your dog's personality, properly measured. Free.
About 5 minutes · 25 quick questions · Works on any phone
"My dog loves being close to me."
A real question from the test. Every question uses your dog's name — because you're not rating "a dog." There are no wrong answers — and no good or bad personalities.

The Shape
Every dog is someone
Five traits, measured the same way for every dog — and drawn as a shape that belongs to yours alone.
Vera · 4 years · mixed breed
Vera, you notice everything first and figure it out anyway. Once your human knows that, walks get easier for both of you.
- Sociability — how much people mean to them
- Energy — how much go is in the tank
- Trainability — how they learn, listen, and figure things out
- Boldness — how they meet whatever's new
- Emotional Reactivity — how strongly the world lands on them
This is Vera — quick to learn, quick to worry. Not a good dog or a bad dog: a particular dog. That's the point.
You describe her every day anyway — to the vet, to the neighbor, to anyone at the park who'll listen. Ten minutes of honest questions, and the describing finally adds up: how warm, how bold, how much engine, how quick to learn, how easily worried. A shape that's unmistakably hers.
Met a dog today? Compare. One scan at the park, two shapes side by side: very similar on warmth, clearly different on engine. And see where she stands among all the dogs on Dogmetry — real dogs, never breed folklore.
No stereotypes. No diagnoses. No stars. There is no bad shape — there's only her shape.
Why trust it
The science is the product
Dogmetry was built by Nazar Akrami, professor of psychology and a specialist in personality — the same five-factor science used to understand human personality, grounded in two decades of research on dogs. The person who knows a dog best is the one holding the leash. That's who answers, and the research says those answers hold up.
A study of 18,000 dogs found that breed explains only about 9% of how individual dogs behave. Your dog will tell you more — if someone asks the right questions.
Owners take the profile to their trainer, their vet, their dog sitter. It's a better first conversation about your dog than forty minutes of "well, she's sweet, but…"
Dogmetry describes personality. It doesn't diagnose problems — if something about your dog's behavior or health worries you, talk to your vet or a qualified behaviorist.
Dogmetry is new, and we're building it in the open. Every profile makes the science underneath it stronger.

Why it exists
Started by someone who was never allowed a dog
Nazar grew up in a family of eleven, in a neighborhood where dogs lived in garden cottages and were never allowed indoors — and where his mother's answer was always no. He became a professor who measures personality for a living. Then a former street dog named Toby Linero moved in for long stretches, and settled the question of what all that measuring was for.
"There is exactly one living being on this earth who loves me without any boundaries at all — and that is Toby Linero."

The promise
Money that comes from dogs goes back to dogs
Dogmetry is a company, not a charity — we'd rather say that plainly. And it carries a promise: at least 20% of revenue goes back to dogs — to research on dogs and the dog–human relationship, and to the shelters and rescues that take in dogs who don't have their human yet. Dogs like Toby Linero once was.
Your dog's profile is five minutes away.
