What dogs gave back
Dogmetry makes a promise on its front door: money that comes from dogs goes back to dogs. This page is where we keep it.
€2 of every Profile.
Each time someone opens their dog's full Profile (€9.90), €2 of it is set aside for dogs — about 20%. Not "up to," not "profits permitting." Two euros, every sale, counted the moment the payment lands. (If a purchase is refunded, its €2 goes back too — the donation follows the money.)
The first €1,000 came from us.
Before Dogmetry earned a single euro, we set aside €1,000 — €2 for each of the 500 founding dogs who are helping build the baseline every dog will be compared with. Their contribution is science; the €2 in each of their names is our thanks.
Where it goes.
Half to dog research — the science of understanding dogs better. Half to organizations that care for dogs — shelters and welfare work. We choose recipients openly. Once a year, when our accounts are closed, we announce the year's giving here — every recipient, by name.
Donations so far
The first donations go out after our first year's accounts are closed — and they'll be announced right here, every recipient by name. The €1,000 founding seed is already on the books, waiting to be part of them.
Work for dogs? Apply here.
If your organization works for dogs, we'd like to hear from you. We give in two directions: dog research — universities and groups studying how dogs think, feel, and live — and dog care — shelters, rescues, and welfare organizations doing the daily work.
Who can apply: registered organizations, not private individuals.
How it works: once a year, when our yearly accounts are closed and every euro of the giveback is counted and confirmed, we open for applications — announced right here. One email to hello@dogmetry.com with the subject "Giveback" is enough: who you are, what you do for dogs, and what a donation would help you do. One page is plenty; no forms.
Each year we publish what was given and to whom, right here on this page. We won't be able to fund everyone, and applying creates no promise on either side. But every application teaches us where the money is needed, and we're grateful for each one.
Applications aren't open yet. The first window opens when our first year's accounts are done.
Why we do it this way.
Dogmetry is openly a for-profit company — we think that's the honest way to build something that lasts. The giveback isn't charity theater on top of a business; it's the deal we made with ourselves when we started: the dogs are the reason any of this works, so the dogs stay on the payroll.
And when a dog's life ends, their place on Dogmetry stays — open to the people who knew them. In memory →
